[CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE]The Seattle Sounders are out of the Concacaf Champions League, but they sure made it a lot more exciting than anyone could have imagined. After losing the first leg at home, 1-0, the Sounders looked doomed when Darwin Quintero scored on a free kick in the 21st minute. But sub Lamar Neagle's goal in the 73rd minute triggered a furious finish in which another Seattle goal would have sent the MLS club through to the semifinals. The 1-1 final score sent Santos into the championship series for the second year in a row.

The Sounders set the tone for the game with chances from Eddie Johnson, Steve Zakuani and Shalrie Josephin the first quarter of an hour.

Quintero scored his 16th CCL goal when his free kick slammed off the underside of the crossbar. The Colombian had a chance to make it 2-0 late in the first half but his shot caromed off the post.

The Sounders came out strongly in the second half but veteran keeper Oswaldo Sanchez stopped Osvaldo Alonso in the 48th minute on a hard volley from close range.

Schmid brought Mauro Rosales and Neagle on for Mario Martinez and Johnson, and Neagle scored on a rebound of Zakuani's shot after he had shrugged off the challenge from Panamanian internationalFelipe Baloy.

The Sounders' best chance for the game and series winner came in the 82nd minute when Alex Caskey found Djimi Traore in the area, but the Malian international's header weakly fell into Sanchez's arms.
