[AWARDS] Salvadoran forward Gerson Umana, whose hat trick led D.C. United's U-15/16 academy team to a 5-3 win over FC Delco, was named U.S. Soccer Development Academy Player of the Week.

Umana found the net in the 15th, 55th, and 62nd minutes to give him 15 goals this season for 14-2-4 D.C. United.

“Gerson has continued to progress as a player this season,” said D.C. United U-16 Academy coach Tom Torres. “While he's had some typical youth player ups and downs, he continues to impress all of us with his qualities and is an academy player to watch.”

    Gerson was a great player even when he was playing for PWSI!

    Yea but he wasnt academy yet. It doesnt count. :)
