[USA MEN] Jurgen Klinsmann will announce on Thursday his roster of players for the upcoming friendlies against Belgium and Germany and World Cup qualifiers against Jamaica, Panama and Honduras. A training camp will open Tuesday at the Home Depot Center, but the USA will be short-handed as a half dozen or so players he'll call up will have yet to have finished their seasons.

-- The victory by Tijuana over Palmeiras in the Libertadores Cup means that Edgar Castillo and Joe Corona will be unavailable through May 29 as the Xolos will face Ronaldinho's Atletico Mineiro in the quarterfinals. (The semifinals and final will take place in July.)

-- Michael Bradley's will play for the Coppa Italia May 26 when it meets city rival Lazio in the final.

-- In Germany, the Bundesliga season ends this weekend, but the third team from the bottom then enters a promotion/relegation battle against the No. 3 team in the 2. Bundesliga. Hoffenheim (Fabian Johnson and the injured Danny Williams) are currently in 17th place with 28 points. Augsburg and Fortuna Duesseldorf are tied for 15th with 30 points. (Michael Parkhurst has not dressed for Augsburg in recent weeks).

-- Herculez Gomez's Santos will play in the Mexican Torneo Clausura final next week if it beats Cruz Azul in the semifinals.

-- Terrence Boyd's season with Rapid Vienna in the Austrian Bundesliga doesn't end until May 26.

-- There are four games left in Spain's Second Division, which doesn't end until June 8. Carlos Bocanegra is again starting for Racing Santander, which finds itself five points inside the relegation zone.

USA Schedule:
May 29: Belgium (friendly) in Cleveland
June 2: Germany (friendly) in Washington, D.C.
June 7: at Jamaica (World Cup qualifying)
June 11: Panama (World Cup qualifying) in Seattle
June 18: Honduras (World Cup qualifying) in Sandy, Utah

The WC qualifier against Jamaica is Oct. 11 in KC. When do tickets go on sale, please? The website doesn't exactly say "when". thank you Jim Harris Iowa city

I fail to understand the value of a friendly against a German "B" Team! [Check the German football press: most of the "A" players are still involved in UCL etc competition]. It doesn't even give us 'true' bragging rights if we win, since they will say "Na ja - it was only our reserve team!" Happened before...

^ Under Klinsmann, the U.S. has sometimes been a German B team.

So, was that to imply, Boca will not be released/available for the Jamaica match, and likely Pamama on the 11th? Again, owns nearly more than 4X the combined caps of who Klinns will likely bring into camp.
