[AMERICANS ABROAD] Sacha Kljestan started for Anderlecht in its 1-1 tie with Zuite Waregem that clinched its second straight Belgian league title. Clint Dempsey's Tottenham will miss out on the UEFA Champions League again next season as it had to settle for fifth place in the English Premier League despite its 1-0 win over Sunderland. Jermaine Jones went the distance for Schalke 04 in its 2-1 win over Freiburg that clinched fourth place in the Bundesliga and a berth in the final UEFA Champions League qualifying stage.

-- Fabian Johnson
started for Hoffenheim in its 2-1 win UEFA Champions League finalist Borussia Dortmund to avoid automatic relegation. Hoffenheim will play Kaiserslautern in a promotion/relegation playoff May 23 and May 27, while Fortuna Duesseldorf joined Greuther Fuerth as the second Bundesliga team to fall.
