[NWSL SCHEDULE: Week 8] The winless Chicago Red Stars finally welcome German internationals Germans Sonja Fuss and Inka Grings following the completion of their seasons in Switzerland, and they should be available for their game at Portland on Saturday. With the USA-Canada game scheduled for Sunday, both teams will otherwise be short-handed.

The Red Stars will be without Canadian players Erin McLeod, Carmelina Moscato and Rachel Quon. The Thorns, who are in a tie for first place with Sky Blue FC, will be without their two superstars, Canadian Christine Sinclair and U.S. forward Alex Morgan.

To make room for the arrival of Fuss and Grings, Chicago waived Hanna Gilmore, a 22 year-old forward from Baylor.  Former Notre Dame star Lauren Fowlkes is departing the team to pursue Physicians Assistant school at Northwestern University, essentially marking her retirement from soccer.
