Mario Balotelli’s name surfaced on Thursday during a court case involving the Naples-based Camorra criminal organization. A witness claimed the AC Milan striker had seen drugdeals being done in the Scampia area of Naples and had asked to be involved in one “as a joke.”

Balotelli responded to the claim on his Twitter account: “Ha, now I sell drugs!Shame, do not use my name for an audience,” he wrote. The post has since been deleted.

When asked about the incident, Italy coach Cesare Prandelli said: “Mario hasresponded — there’s nothing else to say … It is a topic that does not interest me at all. When he wants to talk to you, he will tell you what he thinks.”

He added: “There areserious matters, and here we are talking about a joke. These are serious issues and it is unclear if these are allegations or otherwise. For us, what applies is what Mario has said.”
