Rodriguez's Kaiserslautern falls in German U-19 final

[AMERICANS ABROAD] U.S. under-20 national team striker Mario Rodriguez started for Kaiserslautern in its 1-0 loss to FC Cologne in the final of the DFB-Junioren-Vereinspokal, the German under-19 cup final played as a preliminary game to the Bayern Munich-VfB Stuttgart German Cup final at Berlin's Olympiastadion.

Rodriguez joined Kaiserslautern from the Los Angeles Galaxy academy program. He started for the USA at the 2013 Concacaf Under-20 Championship and should rejoin the U.S. U-20s for the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey.

FC Cologne won on Marco Ban's goal in the second half.
