[MLS SCHEDULE: Week 15] Philadelphia's Jack McInerney will aim to extend his MLS scoring lead when the Union hosts Columbus in MLS's lone midweek game. The 20-year-old, who scored his 10th goal of the season in stoppage time to earn Philadelphia a 1-1 tie with Toronto on Saturday, has been named to the USA's Gold Cup roster.

McInerney was named the the 35-player preliminary Gold Cup roster two days before his strike against Toronto but told MLSSoccer.com he has never spoken with Coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

“I have no idea what [Klinsmann] is thinking,” McInerney said. “But I know if I keep scoring, whether I make it now or later, eventually it will come.”

Philadelphia has a two-point lead over Columbus as both team vie to move into the playoff zone of the Eastern Conference standings. They tied, 1-1, in their previous meeting this season, April 6 in Columbus. The Crew comes off a 1-1 tie with Houston last Saturday.
