[UNDER-20 WORLD CUP] Tab Ramos has named the 21-player roster that will represent the USA at the 2013 U-20 World Cup that kicks off in Turkey June 21.

Five players were not part of the team that finished second behind Mexico at the Concacaf Under-20 Championship in March. They include DeAndre Yedlin, who has had a breakout rookie year with the Seattle Sounders, Alonso Hernandez, who debuted with Monterrey in Mexico this spring, and FC Dallas rookie Kellyn Acosta, the youngest player on the team at the age of 17.

Sixteen of the 21 players are pros -- nine in MLS -- while four are college players, and one is still in high school. The group also includes nine players from California and four from Texas.

Four key players -- three of them central defenders -- are unable for the U-20 World Cup. Will Packwood (Birmingham City) and Marc Pelosi (Liverpool U-21s) were injured much of the spring, FC Dallas rookie Walker Zimmerman has been injured much of the season and only recently returned to action, while John Anthony Brooks of German second division champion Hertha Berlin has not yet committed to playing for the USA at the international level.

U-20 Roster:
GOALKEEPERS (3): 1-Cody Cropper (Southampton/ENG), 12-Kendall McIntosh (Santa Clara Univ.), 21-Zach Steffen (FC Delco)
DEFENDERS (7): 13-Eric Miller (Creighton Univ.), 3-Juan Pablo Ocegueda (Guadalajara/MEX), 5-Shane O’Neill (Colorado Rapids), 18-Oscar Sorto (LA Galaxy), 4-Caleb Stanko (Freiburg/GER), 14-Javan Torre (UCLA), 2-DeAndre Yedlin (Seattle Sounders)
MIDFIELDERS (5): 16-Kellyn Acosta (FC Dallas), 10-Luis Gil (Real Salt Lake), 8-Benji Joya (Santos/MEX), 15-Mikey Lopez (Sporting KC), 6-Wil Trapp (Columbus Crew)
FORWARDS (6): 20-Daniel Cuevas (Santos/MEX), 17-Danny Garcia (Univ. of North Carolina), 7-Victor Pineda (Chicago Fire), 19-Alonso Hernandez (Monterrey/MEX), 9-Mario Rodriguez (Kaiserslautern/GER), 11-Jose Villarreal (LA Galaxy).
