[WORLD CUP 2014 QUALIFYING: Europe] LA Galaxy forward Robbie Keane set an Irish record with his 126th international appearance and celebrated with a hat trick in a 3-0 win over the Faeroe Islands in World Cup qualifying at Dublin.

The win moved the Irish into a tie for second place with Austria, a 2-1 winner over Sweden, in Group C behind Germany.

Belgium opened a three-point lead in Group A thanks to a 2-1 win over Serbia on goals by Kevin De Bruyne and Marouane Fellaini and Scotland's first win in seven games, a 1-0 win at second-place Croatia.

Helder Postiga scored in the ninth minute to give Portugal a 1-0 win over Russia that moved it into first place in Group F.
