[USL PRO REWIND: Week 12] The Charleston Battery warmed up for its U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal match against Real Salt Lake with a 4-1 victory on Saturday night over the Houston Dynamo Reserves to move into sole possession of third place in the USL PRO standings.

Nicki Paterson led the Battery with two goals. Midfielder Jose Cuevas got his first goal of the year , and Quinton Griffith added a goal and assist for the Battery.

“It was great to have Quinton back tonight," Battery coach Mike Anhaeuser. "He always adds another dimension to our game and seeing him and Jose get their first goals was huge. If our wingers are scoring it only makes us more dangerous."

-- A late goal by Shane Smith gave the Dayton Dutch Lions a 4-4 draw with Columbus Crew Reserves in front of 1,621 fans at Beavercreek Stadium. Joel DeLass also scored twice for Dayton, while the Crew Reserves got a pair of goals from Ryan Finley.

-- The Richmond Kickers remained unbeaten with a 1-1 tie with the Wilmington Hammerheads. Canadian Philippe Davies scored for Richmond in the 78th minute, but Steven Perry equalized 30 seconds later.

-- Chilean Kevin Harbottle's second-half hat trick gave to the Colorado Rapids Reserves a 3-1 win at Harrisburg, snapping the City Islanders' three-game winning streak. Morgan Langley had given Harrisburg the lead just before halftime.

Friday ...

Mauricio Salles scored five goals in the first 26 minutes of the game to lead VSI Tampa Bay FC to an 8-0 win over Antigua Barracuda FC.

“It was a great match," said Salles, who added a second-half assist. "The last two weeks I had a concussion and I was working hard to get back on the field. Finally, I got back on the field and did a great job and it feels great. But more importantly we got the win. It's about the team.”

-- Dom Dwyer broke the USL PRO season scoring record he shared with Jhonny Arteaga of FC New York as first-place Orlando City beat Phoenix FC, 2-0.

Dwyer scored two minutes after Jamie Watson put Orlando ahead from the penalty spot before 7,466 fans.

“We started a little slow but when I look at the full body of work I was pleased with the result tonight,” said Orlando City coach Adrian Heath. “We had to be honest with our play against a strong Phoenix side tonight, but I’m happy with the result. “
