[NWSL SCHEDULE: Day 11]  Portland Thorns FC will travel to New Jersey to face Sky Blue FC in a battle of the NWSL leaders without key midfielder Becky Edwards, who underwent successful surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn ACL in her left knee. She had started and played every minute of every game through the first 10 games of the NWSL season.

Edwards, who sustained the injury last week during training in Portland, is expected to be out approximately six months.

-- The Washington Spirit waived midfielder Ingrid Wells, a former All-American at Georgetown University and member of the U.S. under-23 national team who was signed from Swedish club Gothenburg FC in February and had made eight starts.
