[UNDER-20 WORLD CUP] El Salvador made history when it beat Australia, 2-1, at the Under-20 World Cup. It was its first win ever at a FIFA competition outside beach soccer and the first win by a Concacaf team in eight games at this year's Under-20 World Cup. For all the results and TV schedule ...

La Azulita got goals from midfielder Diego Coca and Jose Pena to beat Australia, which had taken the lead on a goal by Joshua Brillante in the ninth minute.

El Salvador started Tomas Granitto, who was born in El Salvador to Argentine parents and raised in Florida, where he attended FGCU. Former RSL AZ star Maikon Orellana, who now plays in Denmark, came off the bench.

Spain remained the only team to win its two games at the Under-20 World Cup.

Most of these players come from one Salvadoran new club called Turin. This club has as only objectve to develop the very best talent in El Salvador. They have Argentinian Trainers. They have 2 very young teams currently competing and winning in 2nd and 3rd Divisions in El Salvador ProLProLeague. Go figure.
