The Confederations Cup's 12 first-round matches were seen by an average audience of 485,000 viewers on ESPN and ESPN2, an increase of 26 percent compared to the 384,000 viewers who watched the group stage matches during the 2009 Confederations Cup.
Saturday's Italy-Brazil match on ESPN was seen by an average of 933,000 viewers, making it the most-watched Confederations Cup match in group play on an ESPN network, surpassing the previous high for the 2009 USA-Italy match (801,000 viewers).

DIGITAL NUMBERS.Through the 2013 Confederations Cup group stage, ESPN FC is averaging 612,000 daily visitors on mobile web, and ESPNFC.com is averaging 881,000 visitors per day (up 41 percent).
NEW ZEALAND ONLINE COUP.Just how important online is as a home to soccer broadcasts was demonstrated by Coliseum Sport Media Management, which beat out pay channel Sky Television and bought the rights to show the English Premier League in New Zealand for the next three seasons on an online platform. The cost to watch all 380 EPL games: $117 a season.
