[PORTLAND CAMP] The U.S. under-20 women’s national team will gather for a training camp at the University of Portland, beginning Tuesday, as the squad continues preparations for Concacaf qualifying for the 2014 U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada.

The eight-team qualifying tournament that will send the top three finishers to U-20 World Cup will be held from Jan. 9-19, 2014, in the Cayman Islands.

U.S. head coach Michelle French has called up 27 players for the event. The notable omission from among the six goalkeepers is Jane Campbell, the starter for the 2012 U.S. U-17 Women’s World Cup team, who like several regular call-ups, is currently committed to summer school.

All but two players on the roster are currently in college or headed to their freshman year this fall.

Those are forward Lindsey Horan, who scored 17 goals for Paris St. Germain in the French First Division this year, and midfielder Andi Sullivan, who just finished her junior year of high school.

U.S. U-20 Roster:
GOALKEEPERS (6): Kaela Little (Notre Dame; Tulsa, Okla.), Cassie Miller (Florida State; Cave Creek, Ariz.), Kate Peters (Carmel United; Greenfield, Ind.), Katelyn Rowland (UCLA; Vacaville, Calif.), Morgan Stearns (Virginia; San Antonio, Texas), Andi Tostanoski (Santa Clara; Colorado Springs, Colo.)
DEFENDERS (8): Mandy Freeman (USC; Royal Palm Beach, Fla.), Hanna Gardner (North Carolina; Chapel Hill, N.C.), Lauren Kaskie (UCLA; Las Vegas, Nev.), Laura Liedle (Stanford; San Diego, Calif.), Kayla Mills (USC; West Covina, Calif.), Katie Naughton (Notre Dame; Arlington Heights, Ill.), Cari Roccaro (Notre Dame; East Islip, N.Y.), Ryan Walker (Stanford; Oakland; Calif.)
MIDFIELDERS (6): Morgan Andrews (Notre Dame, N.H.), Isabel Farrell (Washington; Bellevue, Wash.), Rose Lavelle (Wisconsin; Cincinnati, Ohio), Andi Sullivan (Bethesda SC; Lorton, Va.), Danielle Weatherholt (Santa Clara; Capistrano Beach, Calif.), Allison Wetherington (Portland; Acworth, Ga.)
FORWARDS (7): Cameron Castleberry (North Carolina; Raleigh, N.C.), Hayley Dowd (Boston College; Peabody, Mass.), Jamie Fink (USC; Calabasas, Calif.), Lindsey Horan (Paris SG/France; Golden, Colo.), Summer Lanter (Lee University; Soddy-Daisy, Tenn.), Margaret Purce (Harvard; Silver Springs, Md.) Crystal Thomas (Notre Dame; Elgin, Ill.)
