[VIDEO PICK: Magic Moments] An entertaining Confederations Cup tournament gave the world but a glimmer of what lies ahead at Brazil 2014 just 12 months from now, and today’s excellent montage captures the spectacle.

Soccer’s not the same when Brazil isn't a factor, and the Selcao's emphatic win on home soil, as well as dominating the reigning World Cup champions in the final, made it clear the hosts will be heard at Brazil 2014.

I’ve long felt that the 2014 World Cup in Brazil would become the most anticipated sporting event in our lifetime, and Spain’s unimpressive exit will just encourage arguments about who should be the favorite to win it all a year from now, only making things more interesting.

This footage celebrates a tournament with great free kicks, Tahitian ambassadors, Neymar proving he does in fact have major game, Italy impressing yet again, Uruguay reminding us who won the first World Cup ever, and Brazil, a nation proud once more.

Now just wait right there, we'll be back with the the main course a year from now ...
