Keane rescues Galaxy with late penalty kicks

[MLS REWIND: Week 19] Robbie Keane scored two late penalties -- the second in the second minute of stoppage time after he was taken down in the penalty area -- to give the Los Angeles Galaxy a 2-1 win over the Columbus Crew. The Galaxy picked up three much-needed points as the Colorado Rapids also won with a 2-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls.

Goals: 24/8 GP (avg.: 3.00)

The win pushed the Galaxy into fourth place in the Western Conference, a point ahead of Vancouver and Colorado and three ahead of Seattle, which has three games in hand.

FC Dallas blew a chance to move to within one point of Real Salt Lake for the Western Conference lead as it had to settle for a 0-0 tie with Chivas USA.

The point was the second in two games for Chivas USA, which is nonetheless winless in its last 12 game -- a period of more than three months.

NY Red Bulls stunk up the joint; coach Petke needs to develop a system that is in synch with the players. Sam and Steele contribute zilch to the squad; lots of running, but not enough soccer IQ even by MLS standards.
