[UNDER-20 WORLD CUP] Uruguay rallied for the tying goal in the 87th minute and went on to beat Iraq, 7-6, in a shootout in their Under-20 World Cup semifinal in Trabzon, spoiling Iraqi dreams of reaching the final of a FIFA world championship for the first time.

Substitute Gonzalo Bueno scored on a volley to even the score after a free kick by Ali Adnan had put Iraq ahead in the first half.

In the eighth round of penalty kicks, midfielder Saif Salman missed over the crossbar to eliminate Iraq.

Uruguay reached the U-20 World Cup final for the second time. It finished second in 1997.

The Celeste opened the 2013 tournament with a 1-0 loss to Croatia but won its next four games to reach the semifinals.
