According to a report in The Times, Tottenham Hotspur has put U.S. international Clint Dempsey on the market. The 30-year-old American finished the most recent season with 12 goals and nine assists. While Dempsey’s agent claimed at the end of May that the player and the club were happy with one another, all that might have changed with the arrival of Brazilian midfielder Paulinho earlier this month.

Spurs is also reportedly keen on signing Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke and will be in need of funds to finance such a move.

Dempsey is now being linked with a possible return to Fulham on loan, or a move to Sunderland, where fellow U.S. international Jozy Altidore just signed this week.

Other Spurs players reportedly on the way out include Tom Huddlestone, also linked with Sunderland, Emmanuel Adebayor, linked with Turkish giant Besiktas, and Scott Parker. Read the original story...

Maybe I'll be able to use my Dempsey Fulham jersey again afterall? Although, the idea of Deuce and Jozy playing club together with some regularity should have its advantages come NATs duty.
