[UNDER-20 WORLD CUP] French captain Paul Pogba, who plays for Italian champion Juventus and starts for France's senior national team, won the adidas Golden Ball as the top player at the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey, ahead of Nicolas Lopez (Uruguay) and Clifford Aboagye (Ghana).

Pogba anchored the French midfield alongside Sevilla's Geoffrey Kondogbia. After going 1-1-1 in group play, France caught fire in the knockout stage with wins over host Turkey (4-1), Uzbekistan (4-0) and Ghana (2-1) en route to the final.

Pogba missed France's 2-1 loss to Spain after picking up his second yellow card of the tournament in a scuffle with American Benji Joya. He finished with one goal and one assist for the Bleuets.

Ghana's Ebenezer Assifuah (6 goals) won the adidas Golden Boot as the tournament's leading scorer ahead of Portugal's Bruma and Spain's Jese (both 5 goals).

Uruguay's Guillermo De Amores won the adidas Golden Glove as the best goalie.
