[EURO 2013] Host Sweden moved into the Euro 2013 quarterfinals with a 3-1 win over Italy in Halmstad. Despite the loss, the Italians finished second in the group when Denmark and Finland played to a 1-1 tie and they joined Sweden and France from Group C as the first three qualifiers.

Star Lotta Schelin scored one goal and set up Josefine Oqvist for another. The first goal was an own goal when a cross deflected off Raffaella Manieri into the Italy goal. Melania Gabbiadini has a late consolation goal for Italy.
Denmark's 1-1 draw with Finland was good enough for it to finish third in Group A, but it will need to wait for the results of the final matches in the other two groups to see if it advances to the final eight as one of the two best third-place teams.
