[AMERICANS ABROAD]Alfredo Morales, brought into the first U.S. national team camp of the year, moved from promoted Hertha Berlin to FC Ingolstadt in Germany's 2. Bundesliga to be sure of earning regular playing time, but he'll have to sit out after earning a red card for a foul that resulted in the deciding penalty kick late in Ingolstadt's 2-1 loss to visiting FC Erzgebirge Aue in the 2013-14 opener.

Morales was also at fault on the backpass that led to Erzgebirge's first goal.

-- Bobby Wood, who was named to the USA's 35-player short list for the Gold Cup but not picked for the tournament so he could remain with 1860 Munich, played just eight minutes off the bench in its 0-0 tie at St. Pauli.

-- Andrew Wooten opens his season for Kaiserslautern Saturday at Paderborn, the club at which he played on loan in 2012-13.
