[AMERICANS ABROAD] DaMarcus Beasley, who captained the USA to the Gold Cup title, returned to action for Puebla, coming off the bench for the second half of its 1-1 tie with Santos on the third day of Mexico's Liga MX. Greg Garza was the only American to start for Tijuana Tuesday in its 1-0 win over Pachuca.

Like Beasley, Joe Corona and Edgar Castillo came on as subs for the Xolos, who picked up their first win after being off last weekend because their match against Club America was postponed.

German-American teenager Julian Green came on in the second half of Bayern Munich's 2-0 win over Sao Paulo in the Audi Cup. He had scored one goal and added two assists over the weekend for Bayern Munich II in the Regionalliga.
