Tijuana opens in El Salvador

[CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Week 1] The first MLS clubs won't be in action until Wednesday, but as many as four Americans should be in action on Tuesday as Tijuana makes its Concacaf Champions League debut at Salvadoran club Luis Angel Firpo.

Greg Garza, Edgar Castillo and Joe Corona all started in Friday's 2-1 loss at Morelia, and 18-year-old Paul Arriola came off the bench and assisted on the lone Tijuana goal.

Herculez Gomez, who is recuperating from knee surgery, is not with the Xolos.

Tijuana qualified as the 2012 Torneo Apertura champion in Mexico. The title also qualified the Xolos for the 2013 Libertadores Cup, where they reached the quarterfinals.
