[MLS TRANSACTIONS]Charlie Davies is back in New England, where he grew up. After a year and a half in France and Denmark, where he failed to score in 25 games, all but three off the bench, he has joined the New England Revolution on loan from Randers FC.

Davies' career has never been the same since being seriously injured in a car crash in October 2009. He scored 11 goals in 26 games on loan from Sochaux to D.C. United in 2011, but the MLS club chose not to keep him.

Davies grew up in New Hampshire and attended Brooks School in Massachusetts and Boston College before signing with Hammarby of Sweden in 2006.

-- The Chicago Fire completed the loan signing of Uruguayan midfielder Arevalo Rios from Palermo. Rios, who played for Uruguay at the 2013 Confederations Cup, is the sixth MLS DP signing of the summer.

Chicago must find an international spot on its roster before Rios can play. It is looking to unload Dutch forward Sherjill MacDonald.

-- Sporting Kansas City acquired 19-year-old Colombian midfielder Jimmy Medranda on loan from Deportivo Pereira and 20-year-old defender Brendan Ruiz from Brazilian club Figuerense.

Over the past two seasons, Medranda made 16 appearances in all competitions for the Pereira senior team and tallied two goals. Ruiz spent the last two years with the Figuerense U-20 squad after his move to Brazil from De Anza Force.
