[CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Week 2] Both coming off big MLS wins over the weekend, the LA Galaxy and Houston Dynamo kick off play Tuesday in the 2013-14 edition of the Concacaf Champions League. The Dynamo's game at DIRECTV W Connection in Trinidad will mark the first evening soccer broadcast on the new Fox Sports 1 (kickoff: 8 p.m ET).

The Dynamo, which downed the Seattle Sounders, 3-1, at home on Saturday, won its group in 2012 and hopes to return to the knockout stage with a deeper squad than it had last season.

It has added Scottish winger Andrew Driver, recently signed Young DP Alexander Lopez from Honduras and hopes to have Omar Cummings and Calen Carr back from injuries soon.

DIRECTV W Connection fell to Arabe Unido, 3-1, in Panama City in the Group 1 opener.

The Galaxy did one better than the Dynamo last season, reaching the CCL semifinals, where it lost to eventual champion Monterrey. Its 2-1 loss at home in the first leg was a precursor of defensive problems to come for the Galaxy, which sits fourth in MLS's Western Conference after its 4-2 win over Real Salt Lake.

The Galaxy will host Cartagines of Costa Rica, a 4-2 winner at Isidro Metapan of El Salvador in its opener available on Fox Soccer Plus (kickoff: 10 p.m. PT). It had eliminated Cartagines' domestic rival, Herediano, in the quarterfinals in March.
