[ENGLAND TRIP] The U.S. U-17 women's national team thumped England, 6-0, on Sunday. Mallory Pugh scored the first of her two goals in the third minute and the team's youngest player delivered the final goal.

The teams meet again on Wednesday in what is a 10-day stay in Britain for the U.S. U-17s.

Taylor Racioppi doubled the lead in the 12th minute before Pugh’s 23rd minute strike. The Americans’ final goal was scored by 14-year-old Frankie Tagliaferri, who is also a member of the USA’s U-15 national team player pool.

Tagliaferri intercepted a pass 10 yards inside the England half, dribbled to the edge of the penalty area for a shot that was blocked -- but she buried the rebound from 17 yards with a left-footed strike.

Coach BJ Snow’s team is preparing for the 2013 Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Championship, which will be held from Oct. 30-Nov. 9 in Jamaica.
