[MLS SCHEDULE: Week 27] Despite having played three more games, Real Salt Lake will open up an eight-point lead at the top of the Western Conference with a win at home over Portland in their third meeting of the month. RSL won at home, 2-1, in the semifinals of the Open Cup and rallied to tie the Timbers, 3-3, in stoppage time in Portland nine days ago. In Friday's other match, New England could climb to as high as second place with a win at Toronto FC.
