A number of Real Madrid players, including star man Cristiano Ronaldo, have spoken out about the sale of Mesut Ozil to Arsenal. Sergio Ramos, Isco, Alvaro Arbeloa and Ronaldo all expressed either shock or displeasure about his departure.

“The sale of Ozil is very bad news for me,” Ronaldo was quoted as saying by Spanish paper AS. “He was the player who best knew my moves in front of goal. ... I'm angry about Ozil leaving.”

Ramos claimed: “It’s a shame. He's a great player, unique. Ozil would be the very last player who I would sell from Real Madrid, if it was up to me. I don't understand this.”

Arbeloa said he thought it was a joke when Ozil told him he was leaving. "There is nobody like him,” the defender added. “It will be tough for the fans because they loved him."
