[CONNECTICUT JUNIOR SOCCER ASSOCIATION] Long-time soccer executive Thom Meredith has joined the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association as its full-time executive director.

Meredith, who joins the CJSA on Oct. 15, is one of the most experienced soccer executives in the country, having had direct senior operational responsibilities at men’s and women’s World Cups and Olympic soccer venues in both the United States and internationally. He has held senior administrative posts with U.S. Soccer, serving as its first full-time director of events, and with WUSA and WPS, the former women's leagues.

Meredith, who has operated his own sports management and soccer events company for the past 10 years that has worked with SUM, MLS, the NSCAA and U.S. Youth Soccer, will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day business and soccer related activities for the CJSA and its 75,000 registered players.

The Hartwick graduate, who got his soccer start in the NASL, also worked for the NFL Tampa Bay Bucs and later two years as administrative assistant for the late Lamar Hunt.
