[AMERICANS ABROAD] Aron Johannsson took his total to nine goals in all competitions this season with a hat trick in AZ's 4-1 overtime win over Sparta Rotterdam in the KNVB Cup. Two of the goals came in overtime as AZ, the defending champion, moved into the round of 32.

DENMARK. Conor O'Brien started in new club Odense BK's 2-0 win over FC Svendborg in the third round of the DBU-Pokalen.

ENGLAND. Jonathan Spector started for Birmingham City in its 3-0 win over Premier League club Swansea City in the Capital One Cup. Geoff Cameron started in Stoke City's 2-0 victory at Tranmere.

GERMANY. Jermaine Jones' Schalke 04 and Alfredo Morales' FC Ingolstadt moved into the third round of the DFB Pokal with wins on Wednesday. Jones started as Schalke defeated Darmstadt, 3-1, and Morales came on the 67th minute of Ingolstadt's 2-0 win at FSV Frankfurt.

NORWAY. Mikkel Diskerud's Rosenborg moved into the final of the NM Cupen with a 2-1 win over Haugesund. Rosenborg will play the Lillestrom-Molde winner in the Nov. 24 final.
