[VIDEO PICK: Off the Post] It's long been a strategy on free kick to make opponent's guess which of the two players lining up for a free kick would actually strike -- but German lower division club Rot-Weiss Essen took set-play deception to a new level.

Six players gathered near the ball. Much more than the usual fakery and good acting followed.

The goal helped Essen overcome a 2-0 deficit against Fortuna Duesseldorf II to share the spoils.

Not to be dismissed is that this stunt would have been deemed farcical and soon forgotten had Kevin Grund not struck the ball so well …
