[UC DAVIS-CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE: Men] No. 10 Cal State Northridge wrapped up its Northern California road trip with its third consecutive shutout as the Matadors defeated UC Davis, 2-0, on a header from Brian Behrad in the first half and a late strike from Edwin Rivas.

The game was a rematch of the 2012 Big West Tournament final Northridge won, 1-0, in Davis.

After coming on as a substitute in the 20th minute, Behrad put the Matadors ahead 1-0 in the 32nd minute, finding enough space at the near post to notch his sixth goal of the season on a cross from Beto Velasquez.

Northridge put the game away when Steven Manios stole the ball from his defender at the top of the 18-yard box and slotted it to Rivas, whose one-timed shot from 12 yards out found the back of the net for the third time this season.

Cal State Northridge will take its three-match win streak into a pair of tough Big West matches at Matador Soccer Field next weekend against UC Santa Barbara (7-4-0) on Friday and battle Cal Poly (8-4-0) on Sunday.
