Seven MLS players called in for Honduras-Costa Rica

[HEXAGONAL COUNTDOWN] Honduras will host Costa Rica Friday in San Pedro Sula with a chance of clinching its second straight berth in the World Cup finals. The Catrachos have called in five MLS players, while the Ticos called up two.

Vancouver's Johny Leveron was recalled by the Catrachos, joining Victor Bernardez (San Jose Earthquakes), Oscar Boniek Garcia (Houston Dynamo), Marvin Chavez (San Jose Earthquakes) and Jerry Bengtson (New England Revolution). Honduras also called up former MLS players Roger Espinoza and Andy Najar.

Alvaro Sabario was again called up by Costa Rica. He came on as a sub in the Ticos' 3-1 win over the USA but then returned to Real Salt Lake after being injured. Portland's Rodney Wallace, who grew up in Maryland, returns to the Tico squad for the first time since the Gold Cup. Costa Rica's one former MLS player is Michael Umana.

Honduras Roster:
GOALKEEPERS: Noel Valladares (Olimpia), Denis Escober (Olimpia), Kevin Hernandez (Real Espana).
DEFENDERS: Johnny Leveron (Vancouver Whitecaps), Arnold Peralta (Rangers/SCO), Brayan Beckeles (Olimpia), Juan Pablo Montes (Motagua), Osman Chavez (Wisla Krakow/POL), Victor Bernardez (San Jose Earthquakes), Maynor Figueroa (Hull City/ENG), Juan Carlos Garcia (Wigan Athletic/ENG), Emilio Izaguirre (Celtic/SCO).
