[UNDER-17 WORLD CUP] Honduras, which beat the USA in the quarterfinals of the Under-17 World Cup to keep it out of the Under-17 World Cup for the first time, defeated the host United Arab Emirates, 2-1, on Bryan Velasquez's goal with four minutes to play. Brazil and Uruguay lived up to their billing as two of the pre-tournament favorites with 6-1 and 7-0 wins on opening day. Brazil's tally included a hat trick from Mosquito.
