[AMERICANS ABROAD] Aron Johansson scored two more goals to give him nine in the Eredivisie -- third in the league -- and 14 in all competitions for AZ, which played to a 2-2 tie at Feyenoord. The tie did drop AZ into second place, one point behind Vitesse. Three points separate the top six teams. Michael Bradley came on as a first-half sub in Roma's 1-1 tie with Sassuolo, its second straight tie after 10 wins, while Jozy Altidore was a late sub in Sunderland's 1-0 win over Manchester City, only its second win of the season.

-- Mix Diskerud started in Rosenborg's 3-0 win at Lillestrom, which finished in second place, one point behind Stromsgodset.

Saturday ...

Both Tim Howard and Brad Guzan earned shutouts on Saturday in English Premier League action. Howard's Everton tied Crystal Palace, 0-0, away to move into a tie for fifth place, while Guzan's Aston Villa downed Cardiff City, 2-0, to climb into a four-way tie for ninth place. Steve Cherundolo suited up for Hannover 96 in its 0-0 tie with Eintracht Braunschweig.

-- Jose Torres came on late in Tigres' 1-0 win at Atlas that clinched eighth place and the last spot in Mexico's Liguilla. He is the only American whose club will be in the playoffs.
