[AMERICANS ABROAD] Mix Diskerud scored on a rocket from outside the area, but Rosenborg fell to Molde, 4-2, in the final of Norway's NH Cupen. Jose Torres, the lone American involved in the Mexico playoffs, came off the bench in Tigres' 2-2 tie with Club America.

Elsewhere, Tim Howard's Everton had to settle for a 3-3 tie with Liverpool in their Merseyside derby, while Geoff Cameron's Stoke City earned a 2-0 win over Sunderland, for which Jozy Altidore only made a brief appearance.
