[UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Matchday 5] As the group stage of the UEFA Champions League nears its completion, the floodgates opened with a torrent of goals on Wednesday: 36 in eight games for an average of 4.5 goals a game.

Real Madrid, Manchester United and Paris St Germain clinched berths in the final 16, bringing to eight the number of berths that have been secured. The eight remaining berths will be decided on Dec. 10-11.
