[NAIA WOMEN: Preview] Defending champion and top seed Lindsey Wilson highlights the 16-team field that kicks off play in the 30th annual NAIA Women’s National Championship Monday in Orange Beach, Ala. The Blue Raiders open second-round play against No. 16 Olivet Nazarene in a rematch of last year’s championship game.

No. 7 seed Davenport and No. 8 Concordia (Calif.) earned their respective program’s first-ever trips to the national championships with wins over St. Ambrose (4-2) and John Brown (2-0), respectively.

Robert Morris (Ill.) and Cal State San Marcos were the only unseeded teams to advance with first-round victories. Robert Morris got two goals from All-America forward Florence Dadson in a 3-1 win over 11th-seeded Spring Arbor. Cal State San Marcos avenged its regular-season loss with a 1-0 triumph over No. 14 The Master’s on a Jennifer Hager goal in the 40th minute.
