[UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Matchday 6] Cristiano Ronaldo, who is looking to win the FIFA Ballon d'Or for the first time, has added this to his 2013 accomplishments: a record for the most goals in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

His goal in Real Madrid's 2-0 win over FC Copenhagen was his ninth in five games, setting the new mark, and it gave him 36 goals in 26 competitive games since August.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with whom he had recently dueled in World Cup 2014 qualifying, finished the fall campaign with eight goals for Paris St. Germain. Three other players had scored eight in previous years: Ruud van Nistelrooy (Manchester United), Filippo Inzaghi (AC Milan) and Hernan Crespo (Inter Milan).

Ronaldo is one of three finalists, along with Lionel Messi and Franck Ribery, for the 2013 Ballon d'Or. He has 28 goals in 21 games this fall for Real Madrid plus eight in five games for Portugal.
