[SEEN AROUND TOWN: Holiday Season] Yes, that was Cobi Jones you saw in the 125th Rose Parade on New Year's Day. AYSO had a float in partnership with the city of Torrance, where the youth soccer organization was founded, to mark the kickoff of its 50th anniversary.

Besides Jones, the all-time leader in caps for the U.S. national team with 164 appearances, the float included family with four generations of AYSO participants and a Southern California family that won a contest to take part in the parade. The Futboleros, a group of soccer entertainers, performed tricks alongside the float.

REGALO DE NAVIDAD. Panamanian keeper Jaime Penedo, who joined the LA Galaxy in 2013, and his wife Angie Penedo welcomed their first child, Jaime Matias Penedo Malca two days before Christmas.
