[NWSL 2014 COUNTDOWN] Five 2012 U.S. Olympic gold-medalists are among the players left unprotected for Friday's Expansion Draft in which the Houston Dash will pick up to 10 players.

Amy LePeilbet, Rachel Buehler, Kelley O’Hara and Shannon Boxx all started in the gold-medal game against Japan, while Nicole Barnhart was a reserve.

LePeilbet, O’Hara and Boxx are all coming off injuries, while Buehler and Barnhart had to be left unprotected because of Expansion Draft rules that required at least one U.S. allocated player be left unprotected if a team has more than two U.S. allocated players.
