[2014 NWSL COLLEGE DRAFT] The National Women's Soccer League will hold its college draft on Friday at the NSCAA Convention in Philadelphia. Washington, not expansion Houston, holds the first pick and will surprise absolutely no one when it selects U.S. national team defender Crystal Dunn out of North Carolina. For more on what shapes up to be a deep draft.

Dunn is one of the "pro ready" players to be come out of college in recent years, already challenging for a starting job on the national team at outside back. But she played everywhere for the Tar Heels and could do the same for the Spirit, which needs lots of help.

Dunn is part of the first class of players from the 2012 U.S. Under-20 Women's World Cup championship team leaving college.

Other U-20 champions who could go early:

Julie Johnston.Versatile Santa Clara player captained U-20s. Only college senior besides Dunn in January camp.

Kealia Ohai.Dunn's North Carolina teammate. They spearheaded Heels' 2012 championship run. Ohai, out of Utah, scored winner in 2012 U-20 Women's World Cup final.

Maya Hayes.Led nation in scoring as a sophomore for Penn State. Returned from Japan in 2012 to help Nittany Lions reach NCAA final.

Vanessa Di Bernardo.Midfielder is daughter of former U.S. international Angelo DiBernardo. He starred at Indiana; she starred at Illinois.

Kassey Kallman.Minnesotan made name for herself on Florida State backline. Seminoles were the No. 1 seeds in 2013 NCAA Tournament.
