[AEGEAN CUP] Its berth in Saturday's final already settled, the U.S. under-17 national team played to a 1-1 tie with Scotland in its final group game at the Mercedes Benz Aegean Cup in Turkey. Richie Williams' team will play host Turkey in the championship game.

Joe Gallardo, who plays in Mexican club Monterrey's youth system after moving from San Diego's Nomads, scored on a breakaway -- his  second goal of the tournament -- after after being fed by Alexis Velela on a 30-yard pass to put the USA ahead 1-0 early in the second half, only for Scotland to tie the match in the 78th minute on a goal by Ross McCrorie after the USA failed to deal with a cross into the six-yard box.

The USA had opened with a 2-1 win over France and 5-2 win over Norway. Scotland had lost to Norway, 3-0, and tied France, 1-1.
