[AMERICANS ABROAD]Aron Johannsson, whose 21 goals put him in contention to challenge Jozy Altidore's American record for the most goals scored by an American in one season in a top flight European league, is doubtful for AZ's Eredivisie match Sunday after leaving Tuesday's game against Vitesse with a groin injury.

Johannsson had scored his 21st goal -- and 13th in the Eredivisie -- and fed the pass that was put in the Vitesse goal for an own goal in AZ's 2-0 win before leaving the game at the half.

Matches to watch:
Friday:
Tijuana-Monterrey (Edgar Castillo, Joe Corona and Herculez Gomez back on Friday night), ESPN Deportes, Azteca America, 10:30 p.m. ET.
Saturday:

Nuremberg-Bayern Munich (Timmy Chandler in the Fränkisch-Bairisches derby), Gol TV, 9:30 am ET.
Sunderland-Hull City (Jozy Altidore against his old EPL team), NBC Sports Live Extra, 10 am ET.

JOHNSON ON MOVE.Fabian Johnson will be leaving Hoffenheim on a free transfer after the season.

“We’ve fought for Fabian’s signature since the summer, but he has decided to leave us,” Coach Markus Gisdol said on Thursday.

The 26-year-old Johnson is expected to fins suitors in the Bundesliga, where he has played 89 games in five seasons, three at Hoffenheim and two at Wolfsburg. He is recovering from a broken hand that kept him out of last weekend's match.
