[USL PRO 2014 COUNTDOWN] LA Galaxy II, the LA Galaxy's new pro club, won its first game, beating the PDL's Fresno Fuego, 2-1, thanks to goals by Travis Bowen and Raul Mendiola on Thursday night at Chukchansi Park.

Bowen, is the older brother of former Galaxy Homegrown player Tristan Bowen, now with Seattle. Two current Galaxy first-team Homegrown players, Oscar Sorto and Jack McBean, teamed up to set up Mendiola for the second goal.

Galaxy II brought four academy players, and they all played, including Fresno product Eljiah Martin.

Galaxy II coach Curt Onalfo also brought on Frenchman Laurent Courtois, who played for the Galaxy in 2013 and will serve as a player-assistant coach for Galaxy II in 2014 during the USL PRO season.

-- Defending USL PRO champion Orlando City has bolstered its backline with the signing of Brad Rusin, who played for the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2013.
