[NASL 2014 COUNTDOWN] The Fort Lauderdale Strikers signed 36-year-old German forward Marius Ebbers, who scored 122 goals in a pro career spanning 16 years and six clubs in Germany. He is best known, though, for his display of sportsmanship while at St. Pauli, scoring a goal with his hand but advising the referee to annul it, which he did, when the foul was not whistled.

"We are excited to be able to have a player of Ebbers' quality join the Strikers," said Strikers head coach Guenter Kronsteiner. "Ebbers is a goalscorer and was the team captain for St. Pauli. The fans there loved him and I'm sure our fans will enjoy watching him play as well."

Ebbers is the second Bundesliga veteran to sign with the Strikers after longtime Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Oka Nikolov, who spent last summer with the Philadelphia Union.
