[SOCCER ON THE AIR]MLS Insider, the documentary series produced by eight-time Emmy award winners Hock Films with behind-the-scenes features around MLS and its players and fans, is one of the Emmy nominees for outstanding sports documentary series. In addition, NBCSN was nominated in two categories for its English Premier League coverage.

Sports Emmy: Nominees

MLS Insider was one of seven series nominated in its categories along with such well-known series as 24/7 on HBO and 30 for 30 and Nine for IX on ESPN.

NBCSN's The Premier League was nominated for outstanding technical team studio and the George Wensel technical achievement award (for goal-line technology).

In Spanish-language category, the nominees for best program were are all soccer programs: three Mexican league matches involving Club America, plus Costa Rica-Mexico.

Telemundo's veteran play-by-play announcer, Andres Cantor, is one of the five nominees for outstanding on-air sports personality in Spanish.
