[USL PRO] Arizona United has hired 30-year-old Maryland assistant Michael Dellorusso as its head coach, replacing David Robertson, who coached Phoenix FC in 2013 under the club's prior ownership group.

A native of Columbia, Md., Dellorusso captained the Terrapins in 2004 and 2005 when they won their first national championship since 1968. He has played for FC Dallas in MLS and spent the past four years as the top assistant for the Terrapins.

“My wife, Hilary, and I are very excited about the opportunity to join Arizona United SC,” said Dellorusso in a statement. “We look forward to being apart of the Arizona community and building a great soccer tradition for the future.”

The last-minute ownership change resulted in a change in Arizona United's opener from Sunday to April 12 against OKC Energy FC at the Peoria Sports Complex.
