[U.S. YOUTH SOCCER] The U.S. Youth Soccer has added semifinals in the under-14 to under-18 boys and girls age groups at the 2014 National Championships. It will also add four National League teams to the Under-14 boys and girls age groups.

The Under-13 and Under-19 boys and girls will follow the same format as in previous years, with the top two finishers in round robin play advancing to the championship finals at the 2014 National Championships that will take place at the Maryland SoccerPlex July 21-27 in Germantown, Md.

The addition of the semifinal round marks the first time that U.S. Youth Soccer has changed the format of the National Championships since 1999, when the tournament expanded to feature round-robin play.
